スリランカの電圧事情です

東南アジアはどの国もおおむね２４０ボルトです。

現在では事情が変わってきていますが、当時は小型の変圧器は

なくてはならない必需品でした。

当時の日本の機器は２４０ボルトには対応していなかったのです。

ELECTRICITY

Sri Lanka uses 230-240 volts. 50 cycles, alternating current. Most

outlets are three-pronged. A word of warning: nomatter where you

are, the electricity has a habit of going off. Most hotels provide

candles in the room as a matter of course. If you use the candles in

your hotel room on Christmas Eve time, it's very romantic, but

please don't do that only by yourself, it's too lonly.
